Thank you for visiting the site of Muskoka Counselling services. My name is David Zielonko, and I offer a wide range of counselling services for Muskoka-Parry Sound and Orillia. I provide services to individuals, couples and families through this private practice.

David Zielonko B.Sc., M.Div., is a Clinical Fellow of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (Ontario Division). For more details, please go to Counsellors for complete credentials. Master's level training is the accepted norm and minimum for clinical training in North America for most agencies, insurance providers and Employee Assistance Providers.

Currently, in addition to my private practice, I also have several years of experience working with both Community Mental Health Services and several Employee Assistance Providers (EAP's).

For the Spring of 2014, and for those who are students or having a low income, ask about counselling with an intern. I have 2 interns currently (see the "News" page) and am supervising them in their work with clients.

Have Insurance? Use your insurance to access our services. Ask how.

My aim in counselling is to help you achieve the goals that you want to see come out of counselling and in your life/family. We help to set those goals and work for you to see you achieve them.
DO YOU:
- Need a place to talk freely?
- Need to be heard?
- Need help communicating with someone?
- Need strategies for addressing or coping with some issue?

I can help. I seek to provide the appropriate input you need and the tools to help you attain your goals.

“One of my passions is to see families,  marriages, and individuals strengthened and to be able to find healing when they hit hard times or when they are beset by psycho-emotional problems.”  David Zielonko

What is AAMFT?

The American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, the professional organization representing marriage and family therapists, believes that therapists with specific and rigorous training in MFT provide the most effective mental health care to individuals, couples and families.

Research shows that MFT is a cost-effective, short-term and results oriented form of treatment.

Clinical Fellowship is the highest level of membership and is based on Master's level training, 1000 hours of supervised therapy (with 200 hours of supervision). Clinical Fellowship is also the standard of acceptance for the Canadian Registry of Marriage and Family Therapists.
